In 2023, RAFI launched Living Roots®, a new print magazine created for small- to mid-scale farmers. Living Roots fills a special niche by bringing forward the voices and experiences of farmers and their communities — stories often missing from broader agricultural conversations. Farming is a challenging and risky business, and through Living Roots, RAFI offers a deeper look at the people, land, and relationships that sustain our food and our future — from practical how-to columns to deeply rooted family histories, and the ongoing decisions farmers face every day: when to hire, which cover crop to plant, or how to afford the refrigeration they urgently need.
