Join us in cultivating change!
Dear <<First Name>>,
October is magic. Green fields sprawl playfully towards mountain hillsides alight with the reds, oranges and yellows of fall’s great show. As our eyes and hearts are overwhelmed by the natural golden beauty of life inside a miracle, we hold a sorrow as we learn more about the absolute devastation of the numerous and constant impacts of climate collapse and farmland loss.
Holding the devastation and the miracles in balance, we are filled with optimism and determination to make significant strides in fulfilling The Farmers Land Trust’s mission to transform our food systems and empower communities across North America through the Farmland Commons. Through collaboration, we are creating an innovative model that protects and holds farmland in community, and gives equitable, secure tenure to farmers, stewards and ranchers using regenerative and sustainable practices.

Fresh Media

Wildlands recently featured The Farmers Land Trust and the Farmland Commons by publishing the piece, “Land as a Common Good,” on their substack. The article was written in collaboration with The Farmers Land Trust staff member, Darby Weaver, who creates a beautiful and inspiring piece of artistry through words. Thank you to Wildlands for giving us the opportunity to reach new audiences on unique platforms!
Co-Executive Directors of The Farmers Land Trust, Ian McSweeney and Kristina Villa, were interviewed for the No-Till Growers Network season premiere of the Collaborative Farming podcast. Listen here or wherever you get your podcasts. Thank you to host Jackson Rolette for highlighting the work of The Farmers Land Trust!

Our most recent blog post, “Let Us Gather on the Land“, has been featured by Patagonia on Reddit and shares a heart-wrenching and beautiful and inspiring take on regenerative agriculture and the need for connection to land.
We are incredibly honored and excited to have Patagonia share it, and hope you will take the time to be moved and struck by the stories of the human experience and the work towards equitable land tenure The Farmers Land Trust is doing.

Events

The Farmers Land Trust will be giving the opening talk at the National Farmers Union Women’s Conference in San Antonio, TX, November 7-9, and we would love to see you there!
Find out more about this and other events that our organization will be participating in here!

With having just returned from presenting at the largest land conservation conference in the country, the Land Trust Alliance’s annual national Rally, which generated new work, engagements, and collaborations, and after speaking to farming land owners from all over the country at the Southeast Biodynamic Conference, we are now turning our attention to our next upcoming events.

A Community Effort
The work we do requires the involvement of each and every one of you, our partners. Together, we can create sustainable and resilient food systems that benefit communities and the planet by ensuring equitable land access and tenure to farmers using regenerative practices. Your belief in our mission and commitment to a better future is what drives us, and we are excited to take this next step with your engagement, collaboration and support. Together let’s:
- Connect: Share our mission with your networks and encourage others to sign-up for our newsletter, follow us on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X and TikTok, and meet in-person at the many events we will participate in.
- Collaborate: Invite us to give an in-person or virtual presentation, workshop, or speech to your community, workplace, or at your event, or publish an article on your blog, substack, or through your own network and audience about the important and needed work of The Farmers Land Trust to address farmland loss and access, and create community-owned land through the Farmland Commons.
Thank you for standing with The Farmers Land Trust in this vital work!
With gratitude,
The Farmers Land Trust Team
